CAT Certified Rebuilds
A CAT machine is the best equipment investment you can make, and its value can extend beyond the machine’s life! When you take advantage of the CAT Certified Rebuild Program offered by Milton CAT, your machine comes back to you not only looking new, but with engineering updates, a new serial number and a new warranty.
The process begins with a comprehensive evaluation, a customized rebuild plan and a cost estimate. The machine is then totally disassembled – all hoses, belts, seals, gaskets, bearings, knobs, switches and gauges are replaced. The engine, fuel system, transmission, torque converter, differential, final drives and radiator are inspected, reconditioned and updated; before installation, each component is thoroughly bench-tested.
Engine wiring harnesses and all other wiring are replaced; critical torques, clearances and pressure settings are maintained and recorded. Certified Rebuilds at Milton CAT include automatic replacement of approximately 7,000 parts, and even equipment needs not typically included in an overhaul are carefully addressed.
The machine is then ready for a crucial step – engineering updates. This stage includes incorporating improvements that have been made to the model since the original manufacturing.
It goes without saying, quality control is integral to Milton CAT rebuild programs; contamination control procedures are carefully followed and rigorous instrumentation and operational tests are continuously conducted. Some of the routine performance testings are turbocharger boost, throttle response, stall speed rpm, transmission and steering clutch response, and hydraulic and pilot relief valve pressures.
Once the machine has been thoroughly tested, it receives a complete paint job, new model identity graphics and a CAT Certified Rebuild decal. A new serial number identifies the machine and entitles the owner to a like-new warranty, verifying the CAT rebuild process executed at Milton CAT. And, last but not least, the machine is taken to its own working environment, where its operators can confirm that it’s working to their complete satisfaction. Now the process is complete, and another Milton CAT equipment owner has dramatically extended the value of his initial investment.
The steps to a CAT Certified Rebuild Program include inspection and evaluation;
disassembly; reconditioning; engineering updates; powertrain tests; reassembly; performance testing; repainting; new serial number; and customer evaluation.
The customer also receives new parts warranties on all replaced parts and his choice of extended powertrain coverage.
